Higher tier bottles can be crafted from 8 of the previous tier.

Essence is the used to craft shady bottles. It can be found in other crafting ingredients as well, but it's primary purpose is Shady Bottle crafting.

==== How do I Essence? ====

In addition to sources like crates, rewards chests, etc, Essence can be obtained by crushing tiered gear. How much esence you get per piece of gear crushed is determined by your salvage level.
