Runes and Scrolls

Runes and Scrolls allow you to customize your weapons, tools and armor by adding or increasing Custom and Vanilla Enchantments on them. Both Runes and Scrolls require and empty socket on the item they are being aplied to. For more info on sockets click here.

What are Runes?

Runes are the items to use to apply and/or increase Custom Enchaments on your gear.

Runes have a maximum Custom Enchantment level which can be reached. Adding a rune for an enchant that is already maxed will have no effect on the item (but will still take up a socket). For a list of all runes and maximim enchant levels, see the Rune Custom Enchanting page.

Runes have been split into colored groups based on their general purpose.

The colors and purposes of the Runes are as follows:

  • Gray Runes: Defense (Healing and tank Enchantments such as: Shield, Paladin's Cleansing and Lifesteal)
  • Red Runes: Offense (Damaging Enchantments such as: Blaze, Area Withering and Molten)
  • Green Runes: Working (Job related Enchantments such as: Angler, Drilling and Excavation)
  • Golden Runes: Utility (Generally helpful Enchantments such as: Dash, Crystaline and Experienced)
  • Violet Runes: Summoning (Summoning Enchantments such as: Necromancer, Werewolf and Guards)
  • Blue Runes: Misc. Combat (Non-damaging combat Enchantments such as: Shatter, Slowness and Levitation)
  • White Runes: Special (Strong or unique Enchantments such as: Lightweight, Fireworks and Well Fed)

One final note for this section: some Runes will be more or less common than others. This reflects the Custom Enchantment rarity that already exists on the server.

How are Runes obtained?

Runes can be obtained by opending runic compendiums or ciphers. Runic Compendiums will drop one random rune of a random color. Ciphers will drop one rune of the same color. Ciphers can be crafted in /ccraft.

Runic compendiums can be obtained from crates, voting, daily rewards, and more.

How are Runes Upgraded?

Catalysts are used to upgrade Standard Runes to its Greater version. Greater Runes apply two levels of their Custom Enchantment rather than one. The crafting recipe can be found in /ccraft or by visitng the custom crafter in spawn.

Can Runes be removed from a socket?

Yes! Infernal Scrubbers can be used to remove all runes from an item. Note that it will always remove ALL runes on the item. There is no way to remove just one rune if there are multiple applied to the item.

To use a scrubber, open your inventory and pick up the scrubber. then, while holding the scrubber still, click the item you wish to use it on.
