There are a couple places where either a dogs nail or something created a tiny gouge all the way through to the wood - so the Bona is not impermeable. I was asked two separate questions. Dry finish. The real way this is tested is actually even meaner to the floor - normally you take a box cutter, cross-hatch the floor (IE cut it in a grid pattern), and then put the tape on it and rip it up. The NordicSeal is a great product for red oak it safely bleaches the wood and removes the harsh red tones. My husband and I had 5" white oak floors installed and we are like the look of one coat of Bona Nordic Seal and two coats of satin water based polyurethane on our floors. We want a more modern aesthetic. That doesn't sound like what you are after. The bleaching added to the cost and another opportunity for something to go wrong.
