Relics and Arcanas

Relics and Arcanas are a strong tier of custom item that can be obtained in various ways. An unopened Relic (base item Magma Cream) or Arcana (base item Fire Charge) can be opened by right-clicking the item. It will give you one Relic/Arcana tier item from the currently active Relic/Arcana pool. Relic/Arcana tier items are often regarded as stronger than Mythic Tier, and weaker than Archaic tier. Relics and Arcanas are made by the Items Team, via community suggestions, or even special suggestion events. There is a custom item wave every month on the 20th, alternating between Relic and Arcana with the exception of January in which both new Relics and Arcanas are made.

There are a number of ways to obtain Relics and Arcanas, including voting for the server, opening crates, collecting your daily reward, buying from the Shady Trader at $30,000 each, or crafting them with Fragments and Entropy Shards. It requires 8 Fragments/Entropy Shards to make a Relic or Arcana respectively. You can obtain Fragments and Entropy Shards the same way as Relics and Arcanas, or craft them with 4 Shattered Fragments for a Fragment, or 4 Entropy Fragments for an Entropy Shard.

Charms are a special kind of Relic/Arcana that can be obtained when opening a Relic/Arcana. They give potion effects when held. They can also be put into items that have a Charm Socket on them (obtained by using a Charming Chisel on an applicable item), then the now “Charmed” item will give the effects of the charm when held or worn. Charms also have a special Active Effect. This effect is applied to the charm, whether it be adding an extra positive effect or removing/dampening a negative effect on the charm when it is currently in the active pool of Relics/Arcanas. Charms, unlike your standard Relics/Arcanas, are never fully retired, but rather cycled every month to keep the pool of active charms fresh.
