Your First Town and Town Permissions
Creating the Town
You're ready to make your first town, congrats! But what do you need first?
Requirements
Rank: Traveler
Cost: $5,000
Distance: at least 8 chunks from another town
So you need to be at least traveler rank (check out the ranks page to see all ranks) and have at least $5,000 in your /bal to create a new town.
Step 1:
Find the location you want the town to be. When you run the actual command to create the town, the chunk you are standing in will be claimed as the first town chunk. Per the above requirements, you have to be at least 8 chunks away from another claimed chunk to create a new town. If you are too close it will not let you claim the land.
Step 2:
Once you've found the perfect spot, do /t new (townname) where townname is whatever you want to name your town. This can be changed later so don't worry about it too much. The chunk you are standing in will be claimed as the first chunk of your new town! As a new town you get up to 8 chunks you can claim. All of the chunks you claim must be touching another town chunk (unless you are claiming a new outpost, but more on that later). Go around and claim the chunks youd like by standing in the chunk and doing /t claim.
Step 3:
Inviting players! To invite players to your town use /t add (name).
Town Permissions
So you have a town, and now you need to set up permissions for your residents. What are the permissions and how do you set them? Permissions are how the game determines who is and is not allowed to do certain actions within a town or plot. Permissions can be set for entire towns or on individial plots. Plot perms will override town perms if the 2 are different.
Permissions
There are 8 permissions total that can be set
Build: Can a player place blocks in the plot or town. This is a group perm and is set on or off seperately for each group below.
Destroy: Can a player break blocks and kill animals in the plot or town. This is a group perm and is set on or off seperately for each group below.
Switch: Can a player open doors, chests, push buttons, etc in the plot or town. This is a group perm and is set on or off seperately for each group below.
Item: Can a player use items (milk buckets, fire charges, etc) in the plot or town. This is a group perm and is set on or off seperately for each group below.

Permission Groups
Permission groups define who the permission applies to. There are 4 permission groups.
Town Permission Groups:
Outsider: A player that is not in the town, nation, or allied nation.
Ally: A player that is a town member of an Allied Nation.
Nation: A player that is a town member of a town in the same Nation.
Resident: A player that is a resident of your town.
Setting the Perms
Group Perms
To set a permission for the town use:
/t set perm (group) (perm) (on/off)
Ex: /t set perm resident destroy on
To set the permission for only the plot you are standing in, use:
/plot set perm (group) (perm) (on/off)
Ex: /plot set perm resident destroy on
Toggleable perms
Use /t toggle (perm) or /plot toggle (perm)
Ex: /t toggle pvp or /plot toggle pvp
